Malibu Baby Shower by Jen and Laura

Last Sunday was a very special day for me. Where to begin? I had a house full of love: my Mother from Arkansas, my Sister from AZ, my Nieces from AZ, my stepdaughter Hannah and one of my best friends Yvonne from Chicago. It really meant a lot for them to be here. Poor Kenny, he was the lone man standing in a house of 6 women. (or he was the luckiest man alive!) There was so much estrogen flying, you have nooooo idea.

So then, as my sister accompanied my to the OBGYN for my standing Sunday morn appt - we learned that I had "dropped" and baby would be appearing in about 2 weeks. Yikes! That's too early - we're not ready yet. Nothing like procrastinating.

After that we drove out to Malibu to attend my Shower. We pulled up to a serene, quaint beach house-turned restaurant right on the ocean in Malibu. Amazing waves crashing on an empty white beach, with a school of dolphins doing their dance on cue. Breathtaking. As we entered the special "upstairs" party room flanked in floor to ceiling windows staring at the ocean - I was completely taken aback. There were all my friends and family sipping on mimosa's in a yellow (gender neutral room) with elegant place settings, delectable food and every detail thought of.

It was great to introduce everyone and tell the stories of how I am so lucky for them to be in my life.
Jen and Laura were the perfect maestro's and organizers. They had it all under control. I am truly blessed to consider them my best friends. How many 'thank you' cards to them would be too many???
And then it was time to open gifts. Oh my! They just kept coming. Everything I asked for, needed and MORE.

I am glad I can share it with all of you.
